While azaleas are not as large-flowered as either type of Hibiscus, they are still very showy and beloved of many Houston area gardeners.

This variety is probably George Tabor.  Azaleas may benefit from some shade when planted in Houston’s hot environment.  They like more acid soil than many other plants.
